Lago Maggiore

BRISSAGO is often our base for visits by Lago (lake) Maggiore. It’s perfect for mountain trips, lots of options for boat tours and a shopping day in Ascona. We stay at the Parkhotel Brenscino Brissago. It has a wonderful view over Brissago and the lake from all rooms, the restaurant as well as from the very nice pool area. The hotel is situated in its own huge park with an interesting and diverse flora (hotel guests can even sleep in a tent in the park 🙂 ). The very friendly staff always makes us feel welcome – truly a hotel that stands out. And the pizzas, wow! We can really recommend this hotel if you stay in Brissago. Hotelcard is also valid here. A lunch experience that still wakes good memories was a trip to Osteria Borei on Via Ghiridone, just 5 kilometers from Brissago. Ok, 5 kilometers up, up, up on a narrow, sometimes very narrow, road. But if you dare, the reward is not only a nothing less but stunning view over the Lago Maggiore, but also a delicious lunch in a cozy atmosphere. This small restaurant has a high reputation on all travel sites, and no wonder, go there!!!
If available try the vitello tonnato 🙂 it will make you forget you have to drive down again 😉
