Klewenalp
KLEWENALP is a relatively small mountain, about 1600 meters above sea level, with the highest point being the Klewenstock with 1748 meters. We went there on thebrightest possible sunny day in August. Apart from another Swiss mountain experience, we wanted to hike the Alpine Flower Track, a short and nearly flat, but interesting hike. Up to 120 different, some of them very rare, alpine flowers are growing here. Many of them are marked with name signs with explanations about the use and in some cases even the level of toxicity! The track goes around the Klewenstock; there is always a tremendous view to other mountains and into the deep valleys. Along the trail there are good chances to clap a cow 🙂 they are not always behind fences. Many other hiking trails are available as well as lots of picnic spots and many restaurants, all with nice views from the terraces. We were also lucky to hear a short alphorn concert by the little church. All in all, a great pick for a Sunday outing with your loved ones.
