Brienzer Rothorn

Have you ever been on the Brienzer Rothorn? Why not? Find a day in your calendar. This mountain, easily reached by the very old, but just as famous, steam rack railway from Brienz, is a MUST-GO! After finding a seat, just relax, enjoy the ever changing nature passing by – first the woods – then it opens up, suddenly you see the lake from different angles – then the mountains with small farms, the cows….The top is only slowly getting closer. After about one hour (a bit more downwards) the mountain station is reached at 2244 metres above sea level. WHAT A VIEW! Walk the remaining meters to the top only 106 metres higher ?. There are many great trails to explore. Enjoying lunch with a cold beer is also an option – which we of course decided to do ?.
